Biography for Pastor Fannie M. Davis, M. Div.

Pastor Fannie Davis was licensed to preach January 8, 1996, by Rev Floyd Tompkins, Jr. former Senior Pastor of Antioch. She received a BA degree in Biblical Studies, December 2002. Pastor Davis was ordained in April 2004 by Rev Dr. J. Alfred Smith, Jr. former Senior Pastor at Antioch Baptist Church and now retired Senior Pastor of Allen Temple Baptist Church, Oakland, CA. Later she attended American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, California and received her Master of Divinity in May 2007.

During her 23-year Ministry, she has served Antioch Baptist Church as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, Team Leader for Antioch Baptist Church Food Basket Ministry, Usher Board, Bible study leader, Team Leader of the Antioch Jail Ministry program conducting worship service as Chaplain at the Santa Clara County Main Jail, Church Choir President, Associate Pastor and Assistant to the Senior Pastor, Reverend Dr. J. Alfred Smith Jr. during his tenure at Antioch for 6 years. Pastor Davis currently serves Antioch Baptist Church as Senior Presiding Pastor.

Pastor Davis has been a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church for over 44 years. In addition to her liturgical duties at Antioch Baptist Church, Pastor Davis has served on the Board of the Ministers Council of American Baptist Churches USA of the Greater Bay Area & Chaplain for TWIS Services (Turning Weaknesses Into Strengths) a local nonprofit, Faith-Based Organization with focus on inmates being reintroduced into the community after incarceration.

Participating in the work of the Lord has not been limited to Antioch Baptist Church. She has participated with Emmanuel Baptist Church’s Coat Give-Away Program and worked with Emmanuel and True Vine’s programs feeding the homeless and low-income families.

Reverend Davis has said that her greatest challenge was serving as Antioch Youth Directory for 14 years. During this time, her faith and trust grew as she learned to depend on the Lord. She started out with 12 young people and God increased it to 60. She has received recognition from the American Baptist Churches of the West for her outstanding Ministry to youth.

Outside of the church, Pastor Davis enjoyed a successful career of 32 years at the United States Treasury Department. She served as the Taxpayer Education Coordinator with the IRS. This position provided her the opportunity to work with communities throughout the valley from Modesto to Bakersfield from Oxnard, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Salinas, and the entire Santa Clara County. During her tenure, she oversaw training programs and assisted in tax preparation for low-income people. One year, she was blessed with 1500 volunteers and they served more than 15,000 during the filing season. Pastor Davis worked with San Jose State University and the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) in assisting others in tax preparation. In partnership with the Franchise Tax Board, Midnight Madness was established to help late filers and tax preparation.
